Portfolio and Addition of Portfolio Page

Hi everyone,
At the suggestion of  Write Your Own Reality, I’m planning on creating a portfolio page.  This page will be updated at the first of the month (or when I find some time near the first).  Of course, I will be documenting all my purchases on a weekly basis through postings on agentdividend.com.  The portfolio will only include my individual stocks that I hold, and will not include my Thrift Savings Plan (TSP) and other mutual funds.  It is a work in progress, as I’m trying to build from scratch after I began this long journey three months ago.  I welcome any comments, suggestions or critiques, as that is what I love about our investing community.  We are all here on the same journey and I’d love to help others achieve their goals and welcome the opinion of others to assist me on my way.
As of today, the value of the Non-Top Secret Portfolio stands at $9,265.17.  It consists of seventeen (17) companies, which are all in the phase of me building a full position.  My largest holding is Apple Inc. (AAPL), as it was the first individual stock purchase I made when I began the journey.  While it is not a stereotypical dividend investor’s stock, per se, I believe the growth of the dividend will rise dramatically, along with capital gains.   In addition, I’ve been adding some energy/oil based companies of late, as I find them to be at the best value at the moment in this bull market.  Here is my current portfolio, as of November 26, 2014:

  1. Thanks for sharing, Agent. Looks like a solid diversified portfolio...although a touch too heavy on one company. But that should eventually get properly balanced when you keep adding money to to the other companies.

    Best wishes

    1. Thanks R2R! Ha I went a little heavy on my AAPL purchase but luckily I scooped it up before the recent gains after the iPhone 6 launch and after the stock split. I don't plan on adding anymore unless I see it on sale.

  2. Thanks for sharing your portfolio. How many company is your target holding? Although I dont have AAPL in my holding I believe it is a must have in everybodys portfolio. Ill try to initiate AAPL on my Loyal3 account with commission free investing. Well diversified portfolio I like it.

    1. Thanks FFF! My target right now is 25-30 companies, but with the ease of buying and commission free avenues now, I'm sure I'll end up with more. I plan on cutting INTC soon, as I only made one small purchase in Loyal3 and decided against it at this time.

    1. Thanks for taking the time to comment AG. I would love to double up AAPL, but trying to diversify my portfolio to build a solid base.

  5. Huge DIS Fan! They own almost everything, from espn to abc to marvel to star wars! Love it. I don't like the metric myself but have you thought about adding Yield on Cost to your spreadsheet?

    1. Hi Evan! I love DIS as well and looking to add a sizable chunk of DIS to my portfolio over time. Personally, I think it will go over $100 next year with no slowing down. I might look to add a larger position very soon.

That's a good idea actually. I try to include it within my larger purchases when I detail it in postings, but completely forgot to add it to my portfolio page. My only drawback would be the smaller purchases that I make routinely.
